Ingredients
- 4 pounds apples
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 3/4 cup honey
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves
- nutmeg
Directions
1 pound = 3 cups cut up 4 pounds = 12 cups = 3 quarts Wash and core apples, peel if desired. Cut into chunks or slices. In a large heavy stainless steel or enamel kettle, cook apples with water, lemon juicee, honey and spices until tender. Put through food mill or sieve, if desired. To can: put into hot clean jars, leaving 1/2 " head space. process 10 minutes in boiling water bath. to freeze: allow to cool. Pack into freezer containers. Seal,label,date,freeze.
