Ingredients
- 1/4 cup soft butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 3/4 cup sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon grated lemon rind
- 1 cup cut up pitted prunes - uncooked
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Directions
Melt butter in saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar. Add egg and beat well. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together into mixture and stir to blend. Stir in vanilla, lemon rind, prunes and pecans.
Spread in prepared pan and bake 30 to 35 minutes or until top springs back when touched lightly in center.
Cut in squares or bars while warm.
