Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup rice, uncooked
- 1/2 cup milk or water
- 4 tablespoons chopped onions
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon celery salt
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
- dash pepper
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 2 8 ounce cans tomato sauce
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon Worchestershire
Directions
Mix beef, rice, millk , onion, and seasonings, Form into balls : 8 . Fry in melted shortening , turning frequently until light brown( but not crusty) on all sides. Add tomato sauce, water and worcestershire sauce, Mix well, Cover; simmer 45 minutes over low heat. Add a small amount of additional water is liquid cooks down too much. This recipe takes twice as long if brown rice is used. It doesn't work well unless maybe it could be partially cooked ahead of time? I'm not sure. MAybe just use converted rice.
