Ingredients
- 2 1/2 pound chicken, cut up
- 1 clove minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 cup yogurt
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 4 cardamom seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons grated coconut
- salt
- 1/2 juiced lemon
Directions
Marinate the pieces of chicken in the garlic, turmeric and yogurt for about 1 hour. Melt the butter with the oil and saute onion with the cardamom seeds, cloves and cinnamon until nice and aromatic. Drain the pieces from the marinade, add and cook briefly. Put in a casserole with the contents of the browning pan, add the marinade, and sprinkle with coconut. Salt lightly. Dribble lemon juice over all. Bake until tender in oven preheated to 350 degrees for about 45 minutes.
