Ingredients
- 1 baked pie shell

- 1 1/2 cups evaporated milk or rich cream
- 6 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger
- 1/8 teaspoon cloves
- 1/2 cup dark corn syrup or molasses
- 3 slightly beaten eggs

- or

- 3/4 cup black walnut meats
-
Directions
Mix all ingredients through the beaten eggs in a double boiler. Cool slightly and add the flavoring and the nuts Pour the mixture into a baked pie shell and serve with whipped cream. I presume the mixture in the double boiler gets cooked until thinkened. The recipe doesn't say. Check the Old Joy of Cooking to be sure.
